Chaos Unraveled?

2024-04-28

Having followed the tracks into the woods, Iris finds herself… lost. Well, sort of. She’s been leaving a trail of magical twine behind herself, but she keeps running across it despite… going straight. She keeps going further into the woods, trying to ignore her twine for now, focusing more on the woods. Iris keeps her ears perked up, her eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of what she’s searching for.

Iris pauses and shivers when her hoof touches something cold. She quickly glances down, finding frost-covered grass stretching out from below her, and ahead into the woods, a shimmering carpet of snow and grass. She gasps and quickly steps back, shaking off the frost. “W-what? H-huh.” She mutters softly, before heading forth again. She forms a barrier above the ground, stepping onto it while taking a deep breath, trying to clear her head despite the forest’s best attempts to prevent that. Iris continues atop the barrier, forming more ahead of herself and getting rid of the chunks behind her.

She continues, finding her trail of twine to not be repeating itself anymore. The woods are growing taller, the underbrush thicker, making it hard for her to see anything past a couple meters. Undeterred, even by the anxiously beating heart in her chest, she continues onwards, soon finding her way to a clearing, the sky above a new moon, with barely a star visible. But the sun was out? A-and it was… morning-ish. She thinks to herself, glancing around. Her shield suddenly vanishes, and she yelps as she drops to the ground… finding the frost no longer climbing up her hooves. “F-fuck, what was that?” She asks softly, looking around and stepping further into the clearing, confused.

Her confusion is interrupted by a soft whisper from behind her, the words barely audible over the rustling of leaves. “So, you came?” A familiar voice asks, and Iris snaps around to look at it, her ears perked up in surprise as she takes in the sight before her. Coming face-to-face with an alicorn she’d never seen before, Iris’ eyes widen as she drinks in the details of this mysterious creature. Its coat is a deep shade of blue and black, reminiscent of the night sky above, while its silver eyes seem to hold an intense aura that sends a shiver down her spine. And then there’s the horn, glowing with a frosty magic and which seems to pulse with an otherworldly energy, unlike any magic she’d ever felt.

Iris lets out a startled yelp, and leaps back almost a full meter, her body trembling with fear and surprise. “W-who are you?!” She demands, her voice shaking slightly as she tries to ready her magic, only to have it falter and fizzle out. The familiar warmth of her powers, the radiant glow of her magic, replaced with an unsettling emptiness that leaves her feeling vulnerable and exposed.

The alicorn steps closer, their hooves spreading frost across the ground. Their lips curl into a sickly-sweet smile, as they look into Iris’ golden eyes with an unblinking gaze. “Mm… you’re so…” They trail off, grinning a little, and for a moment leave Iris wondering whether she’s being toyed with or genuinely addressed. The air is thick with tension, while the alicorn trails a hoof along the grass, towards Iris’ snout. The frozen grass crackles softly as it’s brushed over by the hoof, breaking from the force. “Don’t use magic here, my dear~” Their voice drips with an unnerving sweetness, making Iris’ skin crawl.

Iris steps away instinctively, even with her body feeling heavy and unwilling to respond. Her body shivers from the cold surrounding her, as well as the fear flowing in her veins and pulsing through her nerves. She shakes her head and stutters as she speaks. “N-no… y-you… tell me w-what you want!” She tries to seem confident, to seem… like she has some modicum of control, even if she lost it the moment she stepped hoof into this place. Fear is apparent in her eyes, eyes flitting around anxiously looking for an exit. Her magical twine’s nowhere to be felt, despite having been attached to her just a minute ago.

They giggle eerily, the sound sending shivers down the unicorn’s spine, while they continue their slow approach. “Just relax, dear Iris.” They whisper softly, sounding calm and maybe a bit sultry. “You’ve been… mm, shall we say chosen?” They mutter softly, eyes glinting with intensity. The air around the two grows colder, a wall of ice enclosing a 5-meter radius around Iris.

Despite the slowness of the process, Iris can’t find it in herself to try to dodge. Her body won’t move, her limbs are stuck where she’s standing, immobilized by fear. The ice wall turns into a dome, creating a prison with only herself and the alicorn within. “Chosen to… be reborn~” They whisper, their words infused with an intensity and authority that few can easily replicate. As the words leave their mouth, they suddenly lunge at the mare, taking her to the ground with a heavy thud.

Iris yelps as she’s tackled to the ground, shivering as she writhes below the rather strong alicorn. Her body trembles with an intense fear and helplessness, held down by the alicorn’s vice-like power. She tries to draw upon her magic again, but it fizzles out again. Her powers again leaving her stranded. “W-what do you mean?!” She yells, her voice echoing around the icy prison while she fails in her struggles. Her words are reduced to a quiet whimper as if by a spell. The look in her eyes is desperate, pleading for mercy, for release, for escape.

The alicorn doesn’t relent, instead strengthening their grip. “Shh, dear…” They start to lean down towards Iris’ head, their tone warm and caring, despite their cold actions and icy grasp. It seems counter to Iris’ fear, yet only creates more within the unicorn. “Quiet now.” They lean close, keeping their eyes locked to the mare’s, as if trying to mesmerize her.

Iris’ eyes remain locked to the alicorn’s, and when her snout’s close enough, she tries to lunge upwards and bite at the alicorn. To sink her teeth into the alicorn’s flesh, to try to inflict some kind of wound. Only to have her head slammed back down to the ground by an icy magical tendril which shimmers into existence from thin air. It constricts around her throat, leaving her gasping for air as it chokes her for a moment, only to relax while remaining tight enough to barely affect her breathing, leaving Iris winded and shaken.

She gasps heavily for air as the tendril relaxes, her chest heaving with each ragged breath, and coughs, shuddering heavily as if she’s trying to expel an invisible force from her lungs. “F-fuck…” She manages to choke out between her ragged gasps and breaths, finding very few words to speak in this situation.

The alicorn’s expression darkened as they gazed into Iris’ eyes with a cold passion. “Iris,” they start, their voice laced with power. “You are in no position to defy my will.” They lean forward, eyes narrowing. Their horn gleams in the dim light, a false beacon of hope. “Your very being—mind, body, and soul—shall be molded into what is required of you.” Their words dripped with malevolent intent as they began to manipulate Iris’ legs, spreading them apart and binding her firmly to the ground with tendrils of frozen magic.

Iris tries to fight it, but can’t without her own magic. She winces in pain as she’s forcibly moved, placed into an uncomfortable pose, frost spreading across her body and forcing its way into her core again. Iris’ body shivers, and she lets out a whimper followed by a sharp gasp.

“Oh, hush~” They lean in and lick at Iris’ chest, up her neck towards her head. Their tongue leaves a trail of frost, continuing to slowly encase the unicorn with ice. “This… meager frost is causing you such pain? You can do better than that, Iris-dear~”

Iris’ struggles weaken, energy leaving her body soon followed by her magic. Even her consciousness starts to fade, unable to keep up with the painful cold and the intense drain on her energy. She passes out not long after, with a final gasp.
